sacramento Ace towing Jump Start Service in sacramento, Citrus Heights, Antelope, natomas and surrounding areas
Sacramento Ace Towing Delivers Jump Start Service throughout the Sacramento area every day of the year, rain or shine. All of our tow trucks are equipped with extended length cables to make it possible to jump start vehicles even when they are stuck behind an obstacle. When you get ready to head off to work, or you just finish a nice lunch, and find your battery dead when you go to start your car, we can get a driver and a truck to you quickly.
When your car just won't start, most often the problem is the battery, but not always. Sometimes the battery is okay, but the connection to the battery posts are bad due to excess corrosion or a bad cable. Or, the alternator may be shot. It may also be that the battery is just plain shot and needs to be replaced. Our drivers will all try and give you some idea of what the problem is before sending you on your way.
How to Use Jumper Cables
If you have a set of jumper cables, and a car to provide a jump, you probably don’t need Sacramento Ace Towing. But, what you do need is some basic information on how to properly use jumper cables. So, here you go:
Check the owner’s manual to make sure that jumper cables can be used safely on the vehicle with the dead battery. It’s rare, but some cars may not be safe for jumper cables.
Before you even move the vehicles close enough for the jumper cables to reach, take a good look around and verify there aren’t any safety issues. Check for children, verifying they are at a safe distance, and check for unstable or otherwise unsafe terrain.
Take a look under the hood of both vehicles to check for the location of the batteries in the engine compartment in each vehicle before moving the vehicle providing the jump. Remember, your jumper cables will only stretch so far.
Make sure both vehicle transmissions are in the ‘P’ (for Park) position, and make sure parking breaks are set on both cars.
For safety reasons, it’s best to turn the engine off on both cars and then identify the positive (usually red and marked with a "+" sign) and negative (usually black and marked with a "-" sign) battery terminals on each car.
Attach one of the red jumper cable clamps to the positive terminal on the vehicle providing the jump and the other red clamp to the positive terminal on the vehicle with the dead battery. Do Not let the remaining black clamps touch the connected red clamps.
Next, attach the black jumper cable clamp to the negative terminal on the vehicle providing the charge. The final clamp (should be black) should be attached to the negative battery terminal on the vehicle receiving a tow.
You can now start the car providing the jump. Wait a minute or so before trying to start the vehicle receiving the jump. The car with the dead battery should start without difficulty.
Once the previously dead vehicle is running, you can disconnect the jumper cables.
Very important. Drive the car that had a dead battery around the block a few times so the battery can re-charge. Otherwise, if you turn the car off too soon, the car with the dead battery may be unable to start again.
