Downtown Sacramento

Downtown Sacramento is the rapidly growing and bustling nerve center of the greater Sacramento region. Home to the State Capitol Building that houses the California State Legislature and the Governor's office, the downtown area has been undergoing constant change over the past 20 years. Because it is the center of California's political universe, the demand for housing, including high end and very high end housing, has continued unabated, ignoring all general economic headwinds that might arise.
There are a number of condo and loft projects in the downtown area that give residents the opportunity to take full advantage of the active, open 24 hours a day, urban lifestyle Downtown Sacramento offers. Surely it's not an inexpensive choice to buy and live downtown, but buildings like the L Street Lofts (priced from the $500,000's to over $1 million) at 1818 L Street and Residences at the Sawyer (prices from $1 million up to $3 million) at 500 J Street offer amenities and proximity to all the downtown has to offer are great options for those willing to open the checkbook. If you want to be right in the middle of all the action, with the ability to walk to pretty much everything downtown, the lofts at 120 I Street are the ticket.
One of the biggest attractions of downtown is the food. Whatever kind of food you want, you can find it. Do you want a great steak, you can't beat Morton's Steakhouse at 621 Capital Mall. If you want prime rib, you can find the best prime rib in the region at The Firehouse in Old Sac. If you are a believer in sticking to locally accessed meats and produce, the Selland family gives you just that at Ella Dining Room & Bar at 1131 K Street. If you want sushi, Mikuni Japanese Restaurant at 1530 J Street has been delivering awesome sushi in Sacramento for nearly 30 years.
